Statement from New Birth, Bishop Long My Fox Atlanta February 5, 2011 http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/dpp/news/seen_on_tv/statement-from-new-birth-bishop-long-020311
"New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and Bishop Long stand behind the Bishop's YouTube appeal to Ephren Taylor and City Capital Corporation to do the right thing by quickly resolving this matter with a positive outcome. "New Birth and Bishop Long are not personally attacking Ephren Taylor, or his former company. New Birth and Bishop Long are merely supporting New Birth members, who contacted their pastor regarding their concerns about their relationship with Ephren Taylor and City Capital Corporation. "It was clear that the New Birth members expressed dissatisfaction with Ephren Taylor and City Capital Corporation with what they deemed was a lack of response and a lack of results. "Bishop Long did not receive any personal financial benefits from Ephren Taylor's appearances at the church. It is New Birth's standard practice to have its bookstore, Called to Conquer Bookstore, handle matters of this nature. All speakers and vendors who appear at New Birth receive the same treatment. "There are associated operational costs in having these events occur at New Birth which as a matter of policy are to be reimbursed by the applicable speaker or vendor. Payment for these reimbursable expenses comes from a percentage of the book, DVD, CD, etc. sales generated from these events. "This is an ordinary procedure and policy for New Birth and Called to Conquer Bookstore. "Additionally, in September of 2009, Ephren Taylor, unsolicited, offered to introduce New Birth to TMH Telemedia Services, Inc. of Jacksonville, Florida to assist with its media buys. Subsequently, New Birth and TMH entered into a three month contract dated September 25, 2009 to facilitate a limited arrangement with Black Entertainment Television to broadcast a New Birth ministry television program." |
