The Archdiocese, a division of the Catholic Church, has petitioned the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Milwaukee to retain five local firms at an estimated $1.45 million in fees. That's in addition to legal fees for attorneys representing creditors, including victims of the clergy sex abuse scandal. The organization filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Jan. 4 after failing to reach a settlement with abuse victims.
