Authorities here accuse Patrick Joseph McCabe of molesting six boys from 1973 to 1981. The San Francisco judge agreed with prosecutors who argued that McCabe was a flight risk if freed. McCabe also is the subject of several lawsuits by alleged victims in California. McCabe's lawyer, Robert Beles, says his 74-year-old client denies the charges. Girl (4) dies after stabbing A murder investigation was under way today after a four-year-old girl was found stabbed to death on a housing estate in London. Police found the body of the child at an address in Clapton, east London, yesterday after reports of a knife incident shortly after 3pm. A woman, believed to be girl's mother, was arrested on suspicion of murder. She has since been sectioned under the Mental Health Act and is in a secure unit. Rampage bears meet the public Three orphaned grizzly bears that took part in a fatal campground rampage outside Yellowstone National Park made their public debut yesterday at a Montana zoo. Children watched as the young bears -- nicknamed Dolly, Loulou and Koda -- nosed around a two-acre outdoor compound surrounded by high-voltage electric fencing. Wildlife officials euthanised the bears' mother after she led them on a late-night attack that left a Michigan man dead and two others injured. US to go easy on young illegals US Immigration officers are unlikely to take extraordinary steps to arrest young people who are in the country illegally should a proposed new law, named the DREAM Act, fail in the Senate. Assistant Homeland Security Secretary John Morton said that immigration officers would continue their focus on immigrants who have committed crimes or are a threat to the public. |
