Gerald Howard, aka Carnine Sita, is seen in three strikingly different photos, from left, in 1976; a Bloomfield, N.J., police photo on April 28 this year; and a more recent photo taken by Missouri authorities. The priest pleaded guilty in 1983 to lesser charges after he was accused of sexually assaulting a boy while he was priest at St. Aloysius Church in Jersey City. Now he is charged with sex crimes against minors in Missouri, allegedly committed a year after he was sentenced to probation in the Jersey City case. He was due in court for a hearing Monday, but his case was postponed again, a Missouri newspaper reports.

The priest St. Aloysius Church parishioners knew as Father Carmine Sita, charged with sexually assaulting three boys in Missouri, had his hearing postponed yet again on Monday, a Missouri newspaper reported.

Gerald Howard, who changed his name from Sita after pleading guilty and being sentenced to probation in 1983, is accused of sodomizing three boys from 1983 to 1988 while worked at a parish in Boonville, Mo.

The pre-trial hearing has been postponed five times in the past six months, the Boonville Daily news reported. Cooper County Prosecutor Doug Abele told the paper that Howard's lawyers requested more time because he was collecting depositions from people all over the country.

Howard served at St. Aloysius from 1976 to 1982, when he was charged with molesting a 17-year-old boy. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and was sentenced to five years probation. Shortly after that, he entered a rehab program in New Mexico, and changed his name.

When the latest allegations were deemed credible, Howard was arrested at his home in Bloomfield.
