I've been reporting on the case involving the assault of Father Jerold (Jerry) Lindner. He's the guy that was beat up recently at his home in the Los Gatos Jesuit Center near San Jose. William Lynch has been accused of the beating - Lynch says Lindner sexually abused him and his brother when they were young boys.

Lindner was also a former teacher at LA's prestigious Loyola High School, where he chaired the English department for 16 years.

Another bizarre twist in the life of Lindner.....the brother of a dead priest says Lindner had something to do with his brother's death. Father Jim Chevedden lived at Los Gatos. And, according to reports, Lindner was the last person to see Chevedden alive. Chevedden's brother, John, spoke candidly to me about how he thinks his brother died. On May 19, 2004, Chevedden was found dead on a patch of dirt next to a parking structure in downtown San Jose. Police say it was a suicide, Chevedden's brother says there were other powers at play.
