	Denied Priestly Ordination, Deacon Commits Suicide Catholic Culture December 1, 2010 http://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=8435 An Italian transitional deacon who was found unfit for priestly ordination took his own life on November 30. Luca Seidita leapt to his death from a cliff after receiving word from the Vatican that he could not be ordained a priest. He left behind a note saying: “I wanted to become a priest and all my life was devoted to that.” Bishop Giovanni Scanavino of Orvieto denied rumors that Seidita had been judged unfit because he is homosexual. But he said that there were “some issues” involving the deacon’s friends. The bishop said that the decision against Seidita’s ordination came from the Vatican.
