	Priest Caught with 21,000 Pedophile Images on Computer The Reader November 13, 2010 http://thereader.es/en/spain-news-stories/5109-priest-caught-with-21000-pedophile-images-on-computer.html The Guardia Civil in Castellon arrested the parish priest of Our Lady of the Assumption of the Castellon town of Vilafames, which the prosecutor charged with a crime of distributing child pornography. The arrest was confirmed by the Provincial Prosecutor of Castellon, who ordered a search of his home, conducted in that parish on 10th November, when officers found more than 21,000 files of pedophile material, occupying approximately 600 gigabytes. After his statement in Court on Friday, the Prosecutor asked that he be held without bail until trial. However, the magistrate has agreed to provisional release with the obligation to appear every two weeks. The prosecution announced that it will bring next Monday an appeal against this decision, saying the man could be a flight risk and should not be bailed. The parish of Our Lady of the Assumption is the only one in this small town of about 2,000 inhabitants, whose priest, RS, born in Manacor (Mallorca) has served there as pastor for 15 years. The crime of distributing child pornography (when the subject is under the age of 13) is punishable by imprisonment of four to eight years.
