Alaska Sex Abuse Trial Opens with Victim Testimony Anchorage Daily News November 6, 2010 http://www.adn.com/2010/11/05/1538290/alaska-sex-abuse-trial-opens-with.html A teenage girl has testified that a former pastor at an Alaska church manipulated her into a sexual relationship. The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported that testimony in the sex abuse trial of 32-year-old Shawn Anthony Justice began Thursday when his alleged victim was the first to take the stand. The girl said she was 14 when she began exchanging text messages with Justice on their cell phones in 2008. Justice is the former pastor of Corinthian Baptist Church in Fairbanks. He has pleaded not guilty to all 12 counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor. The girl also testified that Justice revitalized the church when he took over in 2007, expanding membership and getting longtime members more active. |
