LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- A local former priest was arrested Thursday night and accused of sexually molesting a child.

Neil Doherty was arrested four years ago when a victim came forward with allegations. He was released form jail on certain conditions while he waits for his trial to start.

The 67-year-old lives in Lake Worth, where he is on house arrest and wears an ankle monitoring bracelet. It's a condition of his bond as he awaits trial on charges he drugged and raped a boy he met at a Broward County Catholic Church.

According to deputies, he left his home without permission for 17 minutes, which is a violation of his pretrial conditions.

Doherty was first arrested in 2006, when a man came forward with the allegations. Over the last few years, the church has reached settlements in several other cases in which Doherty was accused of sexually abusing boys.

Doherty was transferred to the Broward County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
