An Ohio judge has ordered prosecutors to hand over newly discovered 30-year-old police reports to a Roman Catholic priest convicted of murdering a nun.

An attorney for 72-year-old Rev. Gerald Robinson says the priest's defense team looks forward to reviewing the documents in the 1980 killing of Sister Margaret Ann Pahl.

The county prosecutor's office in Toledo says the 136 police reports had been misfiled and turned up late last year.

Assistant prosecutor Dean Mandros tells The Blade newspaper there's nothing in the files that would help free Robinson, who was convicted in 2006. In Tuesday's ruling, a Lucas County judge said the reports' "relevance" remains to be seen.

Robinson is serving a mandatory prison term of 15 years to life.
