Priest Abuse Case Jury Sent Home BBC News October 21, 2010 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-11595677 The jury considering its verdict in the case of a former West Midlands priest accused of sexually abusing boys has been sent home for the night. Richard John James Robinson, 73, was extradited from the US in 2009 to face 22 charges of sexually abusing boys between 1959 and 1983. The former Catholic priest is originally from Aldridge, West Midlands, Birmingham Crown Court heard. He worked in Walsall, Coventry, Birmingham, Staffordshire and Wales. Mr Robinson served in various Welsh parishes before emigrating to the US in the mid 1980s. The jury, which was sent out on Thursday, will continue its deliberations on Friday. |
