In a statement released today Bishop Farran confirmed Father Rushton’s ‘‘involvement in the sexual abuse of minors’’ at parishes across the Hunter region. The diocese received ‘‘significant allegations’’ relating to Father Rushton after his death in 2007, Bishop Farran said.
