NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- A North Las Vegas pastor arrested over the weekend on charges he molested two boys made his first court appearance Wednesday.

Fifty-seven-year-old Billy McCurdy pled not guilty to 11 counts of sexual assault and gross lewdness. 8 News NOW has learned one of the alleged victims has changed his story. According to members of the church and McCurdy's attorney, that alleged victim made the whole story up simply out of revenge.

Wednesday afternoon, McCurdy faced a judge for the first time. He is the pastor of the Revival Temple Church of God in Christ in North Las Vegas and was arrested Friday night at his home after an eight month long investigation into the charges.

"We have a witness that has different stories. The main thing is that he's now saying, 'Out of anger, I did all of these things.' Obviously he's trying too. He has some other people who are behind this," said defense attorney Garrett Ogata.

The Clark County District Attorney's Office says they were not aware of the retracted statement made by one of the victims in the indictment. They did not say how it would affect the case.

A bond hearing for McCurdy is set for next Thursday. The trial is slated for January 3, 2011.
