	No New Bishop Long Suits, No Criminal Investigation By Megan Matteucci Atlanta Journal-Constitution September 28, 2010 http://www.ajc.com/news/dekalb/no-new-bishop-long-642647.html There is no criminal investigation against Bishop Eddie Long and no new suits will be filed Tuesday, officials said. Last week, four young men filed civil lawsuits in DeKalb County, alleging Long coerced them to have sex. The suits were filed against Long and New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. Officials with the DeKalb County Police Department and DeKalb District Attorney’s Office told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that there currently is no criminal investigation into the allegations. “The police department does not have any current investigations involving Bishop Eddie Long or New Birth Baptist Church or its employees or associates,” police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said Tuesday. A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office said they do not confirm or deny investigations. An attorney representing the four men told the AJC on Tuesday that no new lawsuits would be filed Tuesday. Long has denied the allegations and vowed to fight them.
