Police Charge Pastor with Sexual Assault of Girl By Pamela Lehman Morning Call August 23 2010 http://www.mcall.com/news/breaking/mc-bethlehem-pastor-rape-20100823,0,1524670.story A man charged earlier this month with rape of a girl faced new allegations Monday when police charged him with the sexual assault of another girl while he was a pastor at a Bethlehem church. Santos Adiel Rosado, 44, was charged with sexual assault and interfering with the custody of a child and sent to Northampton County Prison under $500,000 bail. Police said Rosado met the 14-year-old victim in 2007 when he served as pastor at Bethlehem Community Fellowship in the Marvine-Pembroke housing development. Police said at the time of the sexual assaults, Rosado would hide the 14-year-old girl when she would fight with her mother and run away from home. Rosado would also have sexual intercourse with her, police said. Earlier this month, Rosado was charged with raping a 12-year-old girl in Bethlehem and was free after posting $50,000 bail. In both cases, Rosado "systematically sexually assaulted" the girls, said Bethlehem police Investigator Thomas Galloway. A spokesperson for the church at 1417 Marvine St. could not be reached for comment on whether Rosado was still the pastor. According to court records filed Monday: The sexual assaults began in 2007 when the victim was 14, police said. She told police she met Rosado through the Bethlehem Community Fellowship church, where she attended with her family. Police said the assaults continued until June 2009. She told police that one day while they were alone, Rosado kissed her and told her he had been watching her and thought she was beautiful. The girl told police she was confused because although she saw Rosado as a "father figure," she felt like she was falling in love with him. The girl said she began having sex with Rosado, both at his home and in various locations of the city. When she argued with her mother and was being punished, the girl told police she would leave home without permission and Rosado would hide her and they would have sex. In April 2009, the girl was listed as a runaway and in June of that year she was taken into custody by Northampton County Children and Youth, police said. She told police she lived in Florida and with a relative of Rosado's over the last year. On Monday, Rosado was charged with statutory sexual assault, stalking, interfering with the custody of a child, concealment of the whereabouts of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and corruption of minors. Earlier this month, Rosado was charged with rape, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by force, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child and corruption of minors. In that case, police charged Rosado with assaulting and raping the girl in a Bethlehem home from 1993 through 2000. Police said the sexual assaults began when the girl was 12. Rosado is also awaiting trial on charges that when he worked at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, he created fake player cards and preloaded them with promotional credits, according to state police. |
