Dramatic and graphic testimony today from alleged victims of priest sexual abuse during the bankruptcy hearing for the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington.

One victim, identified as John Doe #3, was allegedly abused by Father DeLuca of St. John the Beloved. Doe went into graphic detail to explain the abuse he says began when he was an alter boy at age 10. He says it all started with naps at the rectory, which turned into sexual assaults which lasted for three years.

Doe says the assaults destroyed his life - to the point where he can't let his own son put his arm around him.

At issue in the hearing are continued stays requested by the Diocese that have put sex abuse trials on hold for the last year.

Doe told the judge that for every stay granted, his life becomes more worthless.

Mary Dougherty says she was abused by Father Mackowitz, a former paster at Holy Rosary. She says the assaults began when she was 13 at a CYO camp. She testifited that Mackowitz would push her up against the wall and whisper, "This is power." She says the smell of whisky and cigars on his breath will forever haunt her.

Her family are devout Catholics and think these types of alleged abuse cases are a conspiracy against the Catholic Church. They say her good name has been tainted.

Dougherty asked the judge to put a stop to the stays in the bankruptcy trial. She said she needs her August 30th trail to go forward for "justice for every child who wants to know what they did to deserve this."
