	Lawsuit Filed against Evansville's Catholic Diocese News 24 July 26, 2010 http://www.news25.us/Global/story.asp?S=12867291 EVANSVILLE - A civil lawsuit is claiming Evansville's Catholic Diocese tried to cover up a 2007 rape. According to the lawsuit, the victim was a 23-year-old mentally handicapped woman. She was attending an abstinence youth retreat in Washington, Indiana, at the former St. Mary's School. The church is denying the claims, and says the sex was consensual. The lawsuit also says officials advised the woman to use the morning-after pill. The church denies that claim as well. That lawsuit was filed last year in the Daviess County court. A 27-year-old man pled guilty to the rape in 2009 and was deported to El Salvador in January.
