	Cardinal Danneels Protests Leaks from Belgian Police Investigation Catholic Culture July 9, 2010 http://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=6906 Cardinal Godfried Danneels, the retired Archbishop of Brussels, has lodged a complaint about media reports based on leaks from a secret police investigation of sex-abuse complaints. Cardinal Danneels was particularly angry about a story that a photo of a young naked girl had been found on his computer. That photo, a spokesman said, had been a picture from the Flemish public television network VRT, which was apparently downloaded onto the cardinal’s computer when he read a news story. Because of a news story based on a leak from the investigation, the spokesman said, “The reputation of the cardinal was therefore once more tarnished in an irreparable way.” Prosecutors confirmed that the cardinal had provided an innocent explanation for the photo.
