	Judge Oks Release of Church Officials" Deposition By Linda Deutsch Mercury News June 10, 2010 http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_15269985?nclick_check=1 A judge has approved plans to release depositions by Cardinal Roger Mahony and other church officials regarding clergy abuse cases involving the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Superior Court Judge Emilie Elias on Thursday ordered attorneys to meet and decide what needs to be redacted from the 600-plus pages of deposition. The transcripts were taken in a sexual abuse lawsuit involving defrocked priest Michael Baker. Their contents have not been released but archdiocese spokesman Tod Tamberg says they contain no surprises. He would not elaborate. Elias says the depositions would be released after the redactions, unless the archdiocese appeals her decision. Tamberg says he does not know whether an appeal was likely.
