YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - A former York County pastor charged for having a sexual relationship with two underage girls was sentenced Thursday to serve 17 years in prison.
Jack Duffer, 40, formerly a pastor at Seaford Baptist Church, was charged with taking indecent liberties and with eight counts of aggravated sexual battery.
For each sexual battery charge, Duffer was sentenced to 10 years, with eight years and six months suspended on each charge, which is a total of 12 years. On the indecent liberties charge, he was sentenced to five years.
In August 2009, one of Duffer's paritioners--an underage female--came forward and revealed that she had had consensual sex with him. Duffer was arrested, charged and released from jail on bond.
Days later, another teen said that she, too, had had a sexual relationship with Duffer, but that the relationship was not consensual.
