Braintree, MA, April 13, 2010 - The Archdiocese of Boston today announced that Rev. William Ventura has voluntarily accepted a leave of absence and restriction from public ministry as a result of his arrest on Friday, April 9 in Nashua, New Hampshire on charges of solicitation of an adult. This leave of absence will remain in effect while the case is investigated and adjudicated. Fr. Ventura has been serving as parochial vicar of St. John’s Parish in Chelmsford.

The Archdiocese is cooperating fully with law enforcement’s investigation.

We pray for all who are impacted by this matter.
