Kenneth Hasselbach, 69, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography. A federal judge in Fort Lauderdale sentenced him on Jan. 28. He was indicted and arrested in January 2009, after the FBI accused him of receiving the pornography via e-mail. Authorities recommended the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons house Hasselbach in a facility that treats sex offenders, court records show. Hasselbach had faced sex crime allegations previously in New York but was not charged, according to New York newspaper reports. He was a priest in the Diocese of Rockville Center in New York. He went into early retirement in 1994 soon after a man accused Hasselbach of molesting him in the 1960s, when he was an altar boy.
