CHARLESTON (WV) -- The West Virginia State Supreme Court of Appeals has confirmed that it will hear the case of a Kanawha County pastor who was convicted of molesting several minors in the 1990s.

In February 2009, Sandy Cook was convicted of multiple counts of sexual assault and sexual abuse involving teenage boys that attended Shrewsbury Church of God.

Tuesday, Cook's attorney argued the motions for an appeal before the Supreme Court and the high court rule in favor of hearing the entire appeal. No word on a hearing date, although the case will be heard sometime later this year.

During the February 2009 trial, Cook took the stand in his defense. Also taking the stand were three of his victims, who now adults, gave graphic testimony of the sexual abuse and assault.

Cook is currently serving a 60 year sentence.
