	My Top 10 Scandals of 2009 Living water in an empty desert January 9, 2010 http://livingwaterinanemptydesert.blogspot.com/2009/12/my-top-10-scandals-of-2009.html 10) For their lack of cooperation in the Apostolic Visitation of the Vatican which seeks to analyze the condition of religious life in the United States --- the women religious of the United States. 9) For writing a book revealing pathological narcissism and blame for everyone besides himself --- Archbishop Rembert Weakland. 8) For fathering a child and costing the Franciscans much money over the years for the support of mother and son --- Father Henry Willenborg. 7) For fathering a child by an exotic dancer and having a very public court battle --- Father David Dueppen. 6) For helping themselves to tremendous amounts of money to pay for a lifestyle that included a wee bit of gambling --- Father John Skehan and Father Francis Guinan. 5) For still being in the news despite being dead (this time for plagiarism) --- Father Marcial Maciel. 4) For having a collection of pornography, some of which portrayed subjects of a questionable age --- Bishop Raymond Lahey. 3) For her volunteer service in support of abortion, and continuing vocal support for abortion --- Sister Donna Quinn. 2) For just being his ever cherubic self and for his constant disobedience of the Vatican, and disregard for Cannon Law, which finally prompted an excommunication --- the (former) Archbishop Emmanuel Milingo 1) For breaking his vows of celibacy (almost happened right on the beach) and joining the Episcopal Church and marrying girlfriend --- Father Alberto Cutie. Note: I thought long and hard (or was that hardly?) about the order of 1, 2 & 3. I finally decided that Father Cutie's scandal belonged in the number 1 spot mainly due to the fact that he was so popular, and his behavior gave Catholic haters so very much to gloat about. What do you think?
