"If he is reading this, I would appeal to him to contact myself, the gardai or the HSE. He has been in my thoughts for the past year," Fr Bill Bermingham said. The man had been unable to give either his own name or that of his abuser during an earlier contact, Fr Bermingham said. Meanwhile, the Special Commission of Inquiry into clerical child abuse allegations is reviewing investigations of the Diocese of Cloyne. The Cork diocese was formally added to the commission's inquiry terms last January. The Church's own National Board for the Safeguarding of Children had issued a damning critique of child protection policies in Cloyne.
