Jose Feliciano made his first court appearance Thursday in a New Jersey Superior Court, where Judge Thomas Manahan adjusted the bail from cash, bond or property to cash only. Feliciano is charged with murder in the death of the Rev. Ed Hinds. The priest was found dead in the rectory of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Chatham, west of Jersey City. Court documents say Hinds discussed firing Feliciano one day before his death. The janitor had worked at the church for 17 years. Assistant Prosecutor Leslie Wade said Feliciano used several aliases and Social Security numbers and has an outstanding arrest warrant from more than 20 years ago in Philadelphia.
