	Another Catholic Bishop Caught Sexploiting Children By Mike Ference Examiner October 2, 2009 http://www.examiner.com/x-12613-Pittsburgh-Independent-Examiner~y2009m10d2-Another-Catholic-bishop-caught-sexploiting-children Raymond Lahey, 69-year-old Roman Catholic Bishop was released on $9,000 bail, charged with possessing and importing child pornography by the Ottawa police. He recently resigned his post in Nova Scotia over the past weekend, days before the story actually broke. Sadly, it’s the same old news, just a different day. Could donations from the faithful – but highly gullible laity – have paid for the child pornography? What other crimes were committed over the decades by this dysfunctional sex freak? We’ll never know. Law enforcement and elected officials in a position to protect innocent children usually don’t like to upset pious and pathetic church leaders very often in a position to get even with those officials who try to do their job. Retaliation is never the reason given, but most often used by Catholic Church hierarchy to get back at vigilant officials who try to do the right thing. Swaying the Catholic vote is no different than herding sheep into or out of a pasture, except the sheep found outdoors are much smarter than the sheep found in Catholic Church pews. The sheep found on farms are also a lot more attentive to their lambs than the pew sheep which reminds me, sheep on the farm smell better, as well. So what will happen, next? Same old same old. Some jackass cardinal or archbishop will ride into down in his black Mercedes announcing all the good that Bishop Lahey has done over the years. How much he needs and wants the prayers of his old parishioners. Nothing will be mentioned about church dollars being spent on the exploitation of God’s most precious commodity – innocent children. Worst yet – no one will be asked to pray for the children sexually abused and tortured in the child pornography found on the good bishop’s laptop. And, so the struggle continues as more and more victims are added to the pile.
