Calls for Women to Be Removed from Methodist Church By Micel Schnehage Eyewitness News September 17, 2009 http://www.eyewitnessnews.co.za/articleprog.aspx?id=22109 SOUTH AFRICA — Pressure is mounting on authorities to remove women and children from the controversial Central Methodist Church in the Johannesburg city centre. Earlier this week, Eyewitness News revealed fresh allegations of child abuse at the facility. Abuse expert Susan Black said women suffered at the hands of men at the church and needed to be moved urgently. Black used to work at a clinic next to the church. "I had to stop working at that clinic because it was making me physically ill and that was the story of sexual abuse of women, I just could not handle it," said Black. |
