BURLINGTON, Vt. — The Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington will be back in court on Monday.

That's when jury selection is scheduled to begin in the latest priest sex abuse trial.

But this time, things may be different. The plaintiff in this new case might go to trial without some key evidence.

The judge in the case has yet to decide if documents from other dioceses in Indiana and Massachusetts will be allowed during trial.

These documents detail father Edward Paquette's sexual misconduct of altar boys and were admitted in previous trials that ended in rulings against the diocese.

The Plaintiff claims he was sexually abused by father Edward Paquette while he was an altar boy at Christ the King Church in Burlington and the diocese is to blame because it knew of Paquette's sexual abuse history.

Judge Helen Toor has ruled that evidence about other church priests accused of sexually abusing children will be allowed during the upcoming trial.

There are 25 more cases alleging the same kind of abuse pending against the diocese in Burlington.
