APPLETON - There are no allegations or criminal charges of sexual abuse in the Appleton area currently facing Brother Raimond Rose, but the Catholic cleric is at the center of civil suits in Minnesota for allegedly molesting children.

A representative of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, spoke out in front of Xavier High School in Appleton, where Rose worked from 1966 to 1968. Court documents in the Minnesota civil case against Rose's religious order suggest the group knew about his unlawful conduct. SNAP says the statute of limitations in Minnesota had run out to prosecute criminally.

SNAP is looking to see if there are any local victims, and asking them to come forward so that criminal charges might be filed under Wisconsin law.

"I just want your viewers and readers to know that if you've been harmed by this man get help call the cops reach out to those who have some experience," said Bob Schwinderski, SNAP representative.

"We don't have any record of any allegations against Mr. Rose at the diocesan level," said Deacon Tim Reilly with the Green Bay Diocese. Reilly says he will pass along a letter from SNAP to the high school asking for any information it might have or its alumni might have on Rose.

Reilly also urges anyone who has been a victim of abuse at any time to come forward. He says information they receive will be passed along to police.
