  Pastor Pleads Guilty to Charge

BUCKEYE - A Buckeye pastor accused of using his position to sexually abuse women in his congregation has pleaded guilty to sexual conduct with a minor, authorities said.

Charles L. Carfrey, 59, pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of the Class 6 felony, along with one count of failure to register as a sex offender, a Class 4 felony, according to Maricopa County Superior Court records.

The plea agreement came with a stipulation of incarceration and lifetime probation, prosecutors said.

He faces up to four years in prison when he is sentenced Sept. 11.

Carfrey, pastor of the Lord's House Church, near Fourth Street and Eason Avenue, has been in custody since March 20 when he was arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing several women during counseling sessions in 2004 and 2005, including a girl who was 17 at the time.

Police: Teen took gun to school

SURPRISE - Police said they arrested a 14-year-old boy for taking an unloaded gun to school Wednesday.The boy was arrested at Desert Moon Elementary School, 23251 N. 166th Drive, after someone saw him with the gun and told the school's principal.

The principal then called police, a release from the Surprise Police Department said.

Officers found a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, unloaded, in the boy's backpack, the release said.

Witness told officers that the boy planned on shooting the principal and holding him hostage until he gave his friends "A's" and a "longer recess," according to the police department.

He was arrested and taken to the Surprise Police Department for questions.

He is charged with disruption of an educational institution and minor in possession of a firearm.
