Former Youth Minister Indicted on Sex-related Charges The State Journal July 2, 2009 http://www.state-journal.com/news/article/4621179 A former Frankfort youth minister has been indicted on more than a dozen sex-related charges. Gordon H. Lunceford, 47, now living in Richmond, was indicted by the Anderson County grand jury June 6 on six counts of third-degree rape, one count of first-degree sex abuse, five counts of third-degree sodomy and one count of second-degree sex abuse. Lunceford was a former youth minister at Immanuel Baptist Church in Frankfort, according to a church representative who declined to be identified. Because of turnover, none of the current staff had worked with Lunceford, she said. Its been years since he was here, she said. According to Kentucky State Police Trooper Ron Turley, the two victims are in Anderson County. Lunceford was a 1979 graduate of Franklin County High School, according to a former classmate. A call seeking confirmation from the school was not immediately returned. Lunceford also worked at churches in Anderson and Madison counties, according to KSP. The indictment was the result of a six-month investigation by KSP the original complaint was received in 2008. |
