	New Auxiliary Bishop for Philadelphia By David O’Reilly Philadelphia Inquirer June 8, 2009 http://www.philly.com/philly/news/breaking/20090608_New_auxiliary_bishop_for_Philadelphia.html Cardinal Justin Rigali announced today that Monsignor Timothy C. Senior had been named an auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Senior, 49, has served as the archdiocese's vicar for clergy for the past five years. He previously served seven years as secretary, or head, of Catholic Human Services here. The agency, which has 4,500 employees, includes the Catholic Health Care Services and Catholic Social Services, is the the largest private provider of social services in Pennsylvania. Senior will be consecrated at a Mass on July 31 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul. The archdiocese has four active auxiliary bishops, all of whom serve as vicars for administration and oversee certain operations. Rigali declined to say what Senior's special responsibilities will be, but said he will soon name a new vicar for clergy.
