	Bridgeport Diocese Sues WTNH May 29, 2009 http://www.wtnh.com/dpp/news/fairfield_cty/news_wtnh_diocese_sues_state_200905291626 Bridgeport (WTNH) - The Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport says their right to free speech is being violated by the state. The diocese filed a civil lawsuit on Friday against the state. They say they are being forced to register as a lobbyist, a move they call unconstitutional. The officials are requiring the diocese to register as a lobbyists so they can participate in rallies at the State Capitol. Bridgeport Bishop William Lori says the diocese is exercising its free speech rights and not lobbying. We have not received comment yet from the governor or any other state official. Civil lawsuit documents, and a Letter to Parishioners from Bishop Lori are posted now online .
