Lawsuit against the LA Crosse Diocese Dismissed

Chippewa Co. (WQOW) — A lawsuit against the La Crosse Diocese is dismissed, after a registered sex offender is sent back to prison.

In 2008, James Kaufman filed a lawsuit against the La Crosse Diocese, claiming that he was abused by a priest at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. Friday, the judge dismissed the case.

Last month, Kaufman was sent back to prison for nine years. Police say five days after he was released from prison on his first conviction, he was caught downloading child pornography.
