However, the mahant is still absconding. All three told police, they plotted the scam against the mahant to avenge his exploitation of devotees. "We arrested Archana Patel, the woman in the CD, her paramour Jaydeep Patel and Haresh Patel for recording the CD under Sections 292 and 67 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) for obscenity and 120 (B) 34 of IPC for hatching conspiracy," inspector VN Patel of Morbi police station told reporters here. "Following the report of the CD, we sent a team on the trail of the three accused, who had left Morbi after the CD hit the market. Another team was sent to Sayla to look for the mahant. However, sensing the arrest, he fled," Patel said. According to the case details, the trio had rented a room in Lalpar village near Morbi. Archana lured the priest to a room which had hidden cameras insatlled in it. "In her interrogation, Archana said she wanted to teach the mahant a lesson as the latter had sexually exploited many women in the past. In his statement, Jaydeep said that he wanted to support Archana in her mission, while Haresh said that as he wanted to avenge mistreatment of a handicapped sadhu by the mahant, he hatched the CD conspiracy," Patel said. "However, as there is a lot of discrepancy in the statements of the accused, we've decided to seek their remand," he said.
