Kochi, Thursday, April 02, 2009: Sister Abhaya’s father, M Thomas has moved the Apex Court pleading to revoke the bail granted to three accused in the case Father Thomas Kottur, Father Jose Puthrikayil and Sister Sephy in connection with Sister Abhaya murder case.The plea also says that the statements made by Kerala High Court on CBI could hamper the probe.
Conditional bail was granted to all three accused in the Sister Abhaya murder case in January by Justice K Hema after imposing strict conditions and on bond of one lakh rupees each and two solvent sureties for the same amount. According to the conditions the accused have been asked not to make or receive any telephone calls. If calls are made or received, their bail would be canceled, the court had held earlier.
The Court had also imposed strict restrictions on the movements of the accused.
Justice Hema also directed the accused to cooperate in the investigation and to appear before the investigating officers as and when required.
“The petitioners also should not influence or intimidate any witness or tamper with evidence,” the court had held.
