A statement posted on the church's Web site moments ago reads: "It is with sadness that Zion Lutheran Church accepts the resignation of Alan Wenrich as Senior Pastor, effective immediately. Dr. Wenrich, his family and the individuals affected by recent events, as well as the healing of our church, will be among the prayers of our congregation." Wenrich, 62, was charged after a female parishioner accused him of offering money for sex.
