	Paul Kendrick's Only Goal Is Protecting Children Portland Press Herald January 5, 2009 http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/story.php?id=231223&ac=PHedi Letter to the Editor by Harvey Paul I have had the privilege of knowing Paul Kendrick for over four years. In that time I have found him to be a man of great integrity, compassion and courage. I stood with Paul outside the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception for over a year in order to get Bishop Richard Malone to release the names of all living priests credibly accused of child sexual abuse. Within the first five minutes we were served with criminal trespass notices, though we were on a public sidewalk. Bishop Malone released the names after we conducted this vigil. I stood with Paul outside a church and school in Biddeford to get Bishop Malone to release the name of a priest who raped children. He lived less than a block from where he committed these crimes, in an apartment house and neighborhood filled with children. Two days later Bishop Malone released the name of Michael Plourde, one of the priests who had been removed for credible allegations. I went to the midnight Mass and sent virtually the same letter to Bishop Malone prior to attending. I was there as a reminder of what we see as shortcomings between his public utterances and what is actually happening to survivors and potential victims. I would consider it an honor to be charged with the same spurious charges as Paul, if that means I have prevented the abuse of even one more child. Does that make me, "Over the top?"
