[Appellate court ruling on Aretakis]
ALBANY - A local attorney who has made it his mission to represent victims of clergy sexual abuse has been suspended from practicing law for one year.

An appellate court found John Aretakis guilty of professional misconduct. The suspension takes effect in 20 days.
In a statement released Thursday afternoon, Aretakis accused Bishop Howard Hubbard of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany of trying to muzzle him and is now calling on Gov. Paterson to investigate what he called an "unprecedented abuse of power by the Church."
