(WSAZ) — A former pastor in Putnam County will spend at least 17 years in prison on sexual assault charges. Paul Smeltzer was sentenced Monday morning to 17 to 45 years. Police found a video tape of Smeltzer committing the crime. Smeltzer has to pay for psychological treatment for the victims if they want it. He will also lose custody of his children. Smeltzer worked as a part-time pastor at the First Christian Church of St. Albans Disciples of Christ.
