(AP) - Two Roman Catholic dioceses and two parishes are being accused of negligence. Attorneys for an alleged sexual abuse victim have filed a civil complaint in state district court in Carlsbad. The plaintiff alleges being sexually abused by a Franciscan brother during the 1970s. The complaint names brother Kerry Guillory, the Franciscan Province of Our Lady of Consolation, the San Jose Catholic Church of Carlsbad and St. Edward Catholic Church of Carlsbad. The dioceses of Las Cruces and El Paso, Texas, also are named as defendants. The complaint is the second one that accuses the defendants of covering up sexual abuse and of being negligent in allowing it to occur. The first was filed by another plaintiff last November.
