	UP Priest Accused of Sexual Misconduct Associated Press, carried in Chicago Tribune October 27, 2008 http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-ap-mi-priestremoved,0,2007692.story MARQUETTE, Mich. - An 86-year-old Catholic priest in Michigan's Upper Peninsula has been removed from duty after being accused of sexually molesting an underage boy. The Rev. Aloysius J. Hasenberg served the Immaculate Conception Parish in Watersmeet. Bishop Alexander Sample of the Catholic Diocese of Marquette said Monday a preliminary investigation found "sufficient evidence" that the allegation was true, although no final determination has been made. The diocese said the alleged misconduct happened a number of years ago but church officials learned about it last month. Sample is sending the case to the Vatican for further review and has informed civil authorities. Hasenberg was officially retired but had continued celebrating masses at the Watersmeet parish since 1997. He has served numerous Upper Peninsula parishes since his ordination in 1949. The diocese said it would forward a message seeking comment to Hasenberg's attorney.
