He has been identified as Harihar Padhi in early 40s. As per reports, the three girls had visited the nearby Shiva temple on October 7 and 8 to observe Astami and Nabami pujas when the priest allegedly molested them. Although the victims initially remained silent due to fear, they later informed their parents, who registered a police case. They stated in the complaint that the priest called the girls to his room, adjacent to the temple, and made offensive advances towards them. They added that he had shown the girls pornographic pictures and also asked them to strip on the pretext of appeasing the God for blessings. DSP R.K. Panda said the errant priest has been booked on the charges of outraging the modesty of women, eve-teasing and violation of the Tribal Atrocities Act. He was produced in court.
