	Catholic Priest Charged with Child Sex Offences The Herald October 10, 2008 http://www.theherald.com.au/news/local/news/general/catholic-priest-charged-with-child-sex-offences/1329342.aspx A CATHOLIC priest has this morning been charged with child sex offences relating to two brothers in Newcastle during the 1970s. Police said the priest, 63, was arrested by Lake Macquarie detectives after he arrived at Newcastle police station about 9am. A police statement said he was being charged with 22 child sexual assault offences relating to alleged attacks on two brothers, then aged 12, in the Newcastle area during the 1970s. A Newcastle man, 56, was also arrested after attending Newcastle police station and is being charged with 13 sexual offences relating to one of the brothers and two other victims aged 13 and 14. The charges follow an investigation codenamed Strike Force Georgiana.
