Father Peter Carr, 73, of Orbel Street, Battersea, London, indecently assaulted seven girls by rubbing stage paint into their naked bodies during school plays. Carr was convicted of eight counts of indecently assaulting six different girls after a trial last December. Details can now be reported after he pleaded guilty in a seventh case. That girl was due to give evidence in a separate case. 'No motive' Gloucester Crown Court was told Carr had put on two plays at a boys school in the Forest of Dean, where girls were invited to join in the productions, which he said required full-body make-up being applied. The jury heard he rubbed paint over the girls naked bodies, sometimes when they were alone when him, although he claimed he "only wanted to put on good show" and had no other motive. Carr was bailed to await sentence next week after pleading guilty to two charges of assaulting the final girl. The offences took place between 1969 and 1975. His crimes only came to light after the two women - now in their 40s - swapped online recollections about the clergyman's intimate application of the paint.
