	Milestone for Robinson Book CathNews September 15, 2008 http://www.cathnews.com/article.aspx?aeid=8973 Retired Sydney Bishop Geoffrey Robinson's controversial book, Confronting Power and Sex in the Catholic Church, has now sold 10,000 copies in Australia, its publisher says. The book has sold 10,000 copies in Australia since publication in September last year, according to a statement by John Garratt Publishing. In addition UK, Ireland and North American editions have gone into reprint. A Spanish edition of the book is also available. Bishop Robinson, who previously headed the Church's Towards Healing program says in his book that the story of sexual abuse and the Church's response led him "to the unshakeable belief that within the Catholic Church there absolutely must be profound and enduring change." However, the Australian Catholic Bishops' Conference criticised the book for being "uncertain" about Church teaching. In May Bishop Robinson completed a 15 US city tour on behalf of Voice of the Faithful, an organisation set up following the sexual abuse scandals in Boston. Publisher Garry Eastman commented the book has been successful primarily because Robinson is held in such high esteem by thousands in the Australian Church. "He is considered a person of the highest integrity, as a man with a deep love for the Church he is trying to reform," Mr Eastman said.
