	Hearing on Class Action Lawsuit Set for Fall The Cape Breton Post August 11, 2008 http://www.capebretonpost.com/index.cfm?sid=161137&sc=145 SYDNEY - A hearing on whether to certify as a class action a lawsuit filed against the Diocese of Antigonish by a Sydney man will take place this fall, the lawyer handling the case says. John McKiggan filed the lawsuit in June on behalf of Ronald Martin, a native of New Waterford. Martin’s brother, David, killed himself in 2002, leaving behind a suicide note which led to charges of sex crimes against former priest Hugh Vincent MacDonald. Ronald Martin says he also endured abuse from MacDonald. McKiggan said Monday they’re now in the process of preparing necessary documents to apply for certification. "The next step will be the application for certification, that mini-trial or mini-hearing, but that won’t take place for a number of months yet," he said. Full coverage in Tuesday's Cape Breton Post
