Augusta City Councilors meet tonight to discuss whether the name of the Father Curran Bridge should be changed.

Councilors are scheduled to discuss whether the bridge over the Kennebec River in downtown Augusta should be renamed due to allegations of sexual abuse by the late priest. The business meeting begins at 7 p.m. in council chambers at Augusta City Center.

Councilors are also scheduled to:

• Consider authorizing City Manager William Bridgeo to enter into a contract with Front Row Marketing Services to market the naming rights and other advertising at the city-owned Augusta Civic Center.

• Vote on a proposed new blasting ordinance.

• Hold public hearings and consider granting liquor licenses to Sweet Chilli Thai Restaurant on Airport Road and Holiday Inn on Community Drive.

• Consider allowing the Police Department to accept $1,355 in cash and a wireless video surveillance camera, seized in a criminal investigation in which Augusta police participated.

• Consider allowing night work, if necessary, for the ongoing reconstruction of part of Winthrop Street.

• Consider accepting a right of way from Border Trust for the Department of Transportation's planned project reconstructing Cony Circle.
