Gavino Lai, 81-years-old, originating from Ulassai, a canon from the diocese of Ogliastra, former principal of the Istituto Magistrale Maria Immacolata of Lanusei is under investigation for sexual abuses committed on minors: he allegedly would have targeted two children, even in the confessional, during a mass celebrated at the sanctuary of the Madonna d’Ogliastra. The Public Prosecutor started the investigation some time ago, following a report based upon insistent rumors. The home of the elderly priest has also been searched but the outcome is being kept strictly reserved.
